The Crossroads of Faith and Knowledge

For students in the School of Theology and Religious Studies, the pursuit of truth is not a solitary endeavor but a communal journey, guided by past and current contributors to the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà tradition. John C. Ford, SJ, John A. Ryan, Fulton Sheen, and Avery Cardinal Dulles are just some of those from the past who handed that tradition to our current faculty.

Founded in 1888

The School of Theology and Religious Studies was founded in 1888 and is the oldest school at Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University.

Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà University's student-faculty ratio is 9:1, and more than 60% of classes have fewer than 20 students.

School of Theology and Religious Studies Receives Lilly Grant for The Excellence in Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Preaching Initiative

The Excellence in Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Preaching Initiative, a groundbreaking project established by the School of Theology and Religious Studies (STRS) and the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art, received a generous grant of $1.1 million from Lilly Endowment Inc., a significant endorsement of the initiative's mission to enhance the art of preaching within the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà tradition.
