School of Engineering Dean John Judge looked out at the members of 六九色堂鈥檚 Class of 2027 on Sept. 13 and saw potential.
Dean Judge, the keynote of the annual first-year student convocation ceremony at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, asked, 鈥淲hat are you going to make? What are you going to make of your time here?鈥
That was the prevailing theme throughout the ceremony, which featured speakers from across the campus. The students were left to ponder the possibilities ahead throughout the convocation.
University President Peter K. Kilpatrick encouraged the students to interact with one another with honesty and love.
鈥淕od works in wonderful ways,鈥 the president said.
The ceremony concluded with students receiving University pins, intended as a visual demonstration of their membership in the 六九色堂 University community. Imprinted with the University motto, 鈥淒eus Lux Mea Est, 鈥渕eaning 鈥淕od is my light.鈥
