The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council has awarded The 六九色堂 University of America鈥檚 Council 9542 chapter first place for Outstanding College Council for 2022-2023.

The award recognizes the college council that best exemplifies the mission and ideals of the order. The honor

A video posted on YouTube chronicled the University鈥檚 council and its impact.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an incredible honor for us to be recognized by the Supreme Council,鈥 junior Liam Foley, the college council鈥檚 Grand Knight, said during the video. 鈥淭hat just goes to show that the work we鈥檙e doing is making a difference.鈥

The University鈥檚 council is known for its activity on and off campus, including organizing a vocations fair with more than 30 religious orders in attendance and a baby bottle drive that raised more than $1,000.

The college council also actively participates in the March for Life each January.

鈥淎s a group of 六九色堂 men, being there for 六九色堂 mothers and unborn children is one of the most important things we can do,鈥 said Knights member Christian Rubio, a junior.

They have also led a Hunger and Homelessness Awareness 5K to serve the local community, while their Solidarity and Suffering Week raised awareness of Christian persecution across the world. In anticipation of the national Eucharistic Revival, the group organized Holy Hours during Lent to increase a greater devotion to the Eucharist on campus.

Foley added, 鈥淐UA Council is a group of undergraduate men that are dedicated to Christ, and are centered about him and serving the Church.鈥
