Sister Thea Bowman Recommendations Coordination & Implementation Team
The University works to promote diversity and combat instances of racism in our community. The Sister Thea Bowman Committee — formed in 2020 — has further brought to light specific issues and offered recommendations for change. In the fall of 2022, President Peter Kilpatrick appointed Professor Veryl Miles (former law school dean), Associate Vice Provost Angela McRae and Mr. Javier Bustamante, Director of the Center for Cultural Engagement, to continue to facilitate the University's coordination and implementation of these recommendations to address matters of race in our community and to continue shaping a truly universal culture throughout our campus.
